My Boatyard was established in 1975 building small wooden clinker dinghies progressing, over the years, to larger fishing boats both in clinker and carvel construction.
With the decline in the fishing industry a return to building pleasure craft has kept my business going building the local type of traditional craft. Both Orkney designs, the Skiff and the Yole have become very popular having been revived locally by the Orkney Yole Association.
Orders have come from as far afield as Austria and the latest build is for the south of France.
