Gail McGarva's specialist area is the building of replicas or as she prefers to call them "daughterboats", breathing life into a new generation of traditional craft. Her passion is clinker construction, in particular the building of the racing class boats Cornish Pilot gigs. In 2014 Gail was awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to traditional clinker boatbuilding and heritage craft. Gail is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Craft.
