Aims and Objectives

Our objective is to establish a high standard of service and workmanship in the wooden boatbuilding industry and our logo is an assurance of quality, reliable service and skilled craftsmanship, on which our customers can rely. We also aim to:

• Promote public interest in the purchase and use of wooden boats
• Encourage boat show exhibition space for wooden boatbuilders
• Pool and circulate information and promote communication between members
• Support and encourage green practices in the choice and use of materials
• Promote the interests of employers in the wooden boatbuilding industry
• Encourage recruitment, training and technical education of apprentices
• Engage in research on subjects of interest to members
• Co-operate with other bodies representing boatbuilding and other allied industries
• Provide terms and conditions of contracts for the building and repair of wooden boats
• Collect and circulate statistics on all matters affecting the wooden boat industry
• Maintain the skills and traditions of wooden boatbuilding
